His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa on Bahrain’s winning a seat at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the period 2019-2021.


He hailed the victory of Bahrain as member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the period 2019-2021, by 165 votes (86%), in the elections held which were held at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

The minister hailed the landmark achievement, paying tribute to HM the King for his farsighted vision which support and consolidated rights and liberties and promoted Bahrain’s standing among other nations in the world.


He commended Bahrain’s rights record, civilized approach, commitment to human values and keenness on protecting human dignity and liberties.
