The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) has established two units to produce biogas in Syria.
ACSAD Director-General Rafiq Ali Saleh told SANA that the two units, established in Fedeyou and al-Jermqiyeh sites in Lattakia, are 22 cubic meters each and a 16 cubic meter fermentation plant.
The Center has earlier set up other biogas production units, which al-Saleh described as one of the appropriate mechanisms for rural development and improving environment situation in the countryside and limiting pollution problems.
