The Turkish government aims to reduce the jobless rate to five percent at the end of 2023, Turkish Daily News reported Tuesday. Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz announced that the government were making the tenth five-year development plan, in which the jobless rate is expected to be lowered to five percent. The minister said the unemployment rate in Turkey decreased to 9.2 percent last year from 14 percent in 2009. Yilmaz stressed that the women employment rate has considerably increased in recent years, adding that women take 48 percent of four million new jobs created between 2007-2012. The employment rate of women stays at 26.3 percent, according to official figures.
