Economists who participated in the Anadolu Agency's "Foreign Trade Expectation Survey" forecasted that Turkey's September foreign trade deficit will be $7.2 billion.
According to the survey, in which 13 economists participated, the highest forecast was $7.8 billion while the lowest estimation stood at $5.8 billion.
The panel of economists also predicted that Turkey's exports in September would amount to $13.6 billion and its imports $20.8 billion.
Turkey’s exports in August increased by 2.6 percent to 11.4 billion and imports rose by 7 percent to 19.4 billion.
They estimated Turkey's year-end foreign trade deficit would stand at $82.9 billion, 16.9 billion lower than last year’s 99.8 billion.
Official foreign trade statistics for September are expected to be released on October 31.
