South Korea continued to rank 14th in the world in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) last year.
The Bank of Korea announced on Sunday that South Korea's nominal GDP amounted to roughly 1.3 trillion dollars last year. The figure placed South Korea in 14th place for the fifth straight year, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.
South Korea ranked 12th in terms of nominal GDP in 2000 and then saw its ranking jump to tenth in 2005. However, since 2009, South Korea's ranking remained at 14th place apparently as South Korea posted low growth in the wake of the global financial crisis.
Meanwhile, South Korea's per capita gross national income (GNI) stood at 25,920 dollars last year. The figure placed South Korea in 46th place in the world.
