The second Africa Global Business Forum kicked off Wednesday in Dubai and runs until tomorrow.
The forum, organized by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE's Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will explore new business partnerships and opportunities arising between Africa and Dubai.
The opening session included Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid, Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, president of Ethiopia Mulatto Shuma, President of Ghana John Dramani as well other state's leaders.
At the beginning of the forum, an open discussion was held on "Africa and the way toward change" in the presence of Sheikh Mohammad and presidents of Ghana, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
They focused on challenges in their African countries in terms of attracting foreign investment to their soils that are rich in natural and human resources.
They said achieving sustainable development is difficult due to climate change and rapid population as well as instability and insecurity.
Sheikh Mohammad praised the leaders' choice of Dubai as a center of the meeting, which includes heads of states, premiers, ministers and businessmen from more than 60 countries, Emirate News Agency (WAM) reported.
Upon receiving the participating representatives, Sheikh Mohammad said that such meetings and forums provide opportunities to exchange knowledge and expertise among countries.
He said the meeting and forums are a chance for creating new investment and setting up strong economic partnerships, welcoming any cooperation between his country and African countries.
