South Korea and Turkey will sign a bilateral free trade agreement on Wednesday. The trade ministers of the two countries are slated to sign the trade deal in Ankara, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website. The FTA with Turkey will be the ninth FTA South Korea will have signed. Once the FTA comes into effect, Turkey will be the 46th country South Korea has concluded an FTA with. The two nations have held four rounds of FTA talks since March 2010 and announced earlier this year that they had struck a deal in bilateral summit talks in March. The two sides also plan to sign a bilateral social security pact, which will exempt South Korean workers in Turkey from paying mandatory social insurance premiums up to five years.
