Foreign participants in the first Eastern Economic Forum - to be held on Russky Island off Vladivostok, in Russia’s Primorye territory between September 3 and 5 - will not be required to have Russian visas, the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East said. To pass the border control, it will be enough to have an identity card and the accreditation from the organizing committee.
The conference will be attended by about 1,000 CEOs from Russia and other countries. The main issue on the agenda is the investment opportunities of the Far Eastern region and integration of the Russian Far East into the economy of the Asia-Pacific region. A pool of Russian and foreign investment projects will be presented, the Law on the Free Port of Vladivostok is to be presented in detail for the first time, as well as the service for the reservation of plots of land online.
The security measures will involve more than 3,640 personnel of defense and law enforcement agencies, the regional administration said on Tuesday.
"More than 2,000 citizens, including 400 representatives of foreign delegations from China, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and other countries are expected to arrive in Vladivostok. The Russian delegation will comprise representatives of the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Energy as well as representatives of the business community," the regional administration said.
