The Russian government said that Russia and Syria are determined to cooperate in the customs sector, and that the two sides are expected to sign an agreement on cooperative and mutual administrative assistance in the field of customs.
Russian websites said the government approved the draft of this agreement, which will tackle issues such as customs fees, adherence to restrictions and supervision of the movement of goods, and the steps taken by the two sides to facilitate and speed up the movement of goods between them, in addition to exchanging information on individuals whose activities make lead to infringements.
According to the draft, the two countries are in agreement on the risks posed by breaking customs laws, specifically in terms of illicit trade in drugs and psychoactive drugs.
