Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has today pledged USD 2.5 billion in non-military aid package for the Middle East states.
He announced that his country would contribute a non-military-aid package worth USD 200 million for countries affected by the Islamic State (IS) attacks, which turned thousands of Iraqis and Syrians into displaced people.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe unveiled the multi-million aid package as he addressed the Egyptian-Japanese Business Conference in the presence of his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mehlab
He pointed out that he would announce, during his upcoming visit to Palestine and Jordan, an aid lifeline to refugees and displaced persons from Iraq and Syria, in addition to the Palestinians.
Japan has also pledged to grant loans worth USD 300 million to upgrade the power network, in addition to an-package relating to different sectors.
