Iranian and Mauritanian officials in a meeting in Nouakchott stressed active bilateral cooperation in the areas of oil and gas. According to president.ir website on Wednesday, the meeting was attended by Iran’s Vice-President for the International Affairs Ali Saeedlou and oil minister of Mauritania. Referring to imposed sanctions on Iran, Saeedlou stressed that Tehran is determined to be self-sufficient in supplying oil, energy and gasoline. He further said Iran is ready to share its valuable experiences in those fields with brotherly Muslim country of Mauritania. The Mauritanian oil minister, for his part, appreciated the key role Iran plays in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), adding that Tehran has significant position in both world and region. He voiced his country's readiness to boost oil and gas cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and make investments in related projects.
