Egypt's Investment Minister Ashraf Salman, who is currently visiting Britain, has met with representatives of a number of banks and investment funds, as well as oil companies, to explain the positive performance of the Egyptian economy.
Salman posted them on policies and measures taken by the government as part of an economic reform program, a statement by the Investment Ministry said Tuesday.
His meetings also focused on an Egyptian economic conference due to be held in Sharm el Sheikh in March, the statement added.
A number of British companies expressed desire in attending the economic gathering, it noted.
Salman also touched upon investment opportunities in Egypt, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, energy and petrochemicals.
He urged banks to study ways to contribute to or promote such projects.
The minister also talked about legislative amendments to the investment and capital market laws.
He pointed to new financial tools that have been introduced to lure further investments.
