Under the patronage of Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) today concluded a specialized international workshop entitled (Green industrial development toward circular economy).
The five-day workshop was staged in collaboration with SCE, University of Bahrain, Bahrain Centre for Strategic and International Energy Studies (Derasat) and the UNIDO Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship and Investment in Bahrain.
27 experts participated in the workshop from 12 countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Sudan, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa and Ghana.
The workshop focused on the circular economy, which is chiefly based on recycling used materials to achieve sustainability. It also addressed key environmental trends and industry-related issues, in addition to introducing modern tools and policies dealing with the green industry requirements.
