French President Francois Hollande underlined his country's keenness on supporting renewable energy projects.
Addressing the African summit held Tuesday on the fringe of the Paris climate change meeting (COP 21), Hollande stressed the importance of taking needed decisions to back African states to be able to confront climate change, especially with regard to financing.
Hollande said he was keen on holding talks with African leaders on the fringe of COP 21.
Hollande underlined the importance of solving the African problem of electrification, preventing desertification and rehabilitating Lake Chad.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki moon voiced hope that the COP21 would reach an ambitious agreement paving the ground for a sustainable future.
He said African states have expressed preparedness to adopt strategies to confront climate change.
