Khaled Abo el Makarem, the head of the Egyptian side in the Egyptian-Indian Business Council, said the council seeks to lure more Indian investments to Egypt.
In exclusive statements to MENA, Abo el Makarem added the council was also working on increasing the volume of Egyptian exports to India.
Contacts were maintained with the Egyptian Embassy in India to discuss available investment opportunities, he said.
We seek to increase Egyptian exports to India in the fields of agriculture, mining and chemicals in order to achieve a trade balance between both countries, he added.
The Indian side proposed a number of projects in connection with agricultural machines and education, Abo el Makarem said, adding that the projects were being discussed by specialists.
Earlier in the day, Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour issued a decision reforming Egypt's side at the Egyptian-Indian Business Council.
