The Seventh Astana Economic Forum (AEF) and the Second World Anticrisis Conference opened here Wednesday in Kazakhstan’s capital city. Representatives from 150 countries are attending the two events, organisers said. Member of Kazakshani Parliament and Co-Chairman of the ‘Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists’ Association, Serik Nugerbekov told Itar-Tass news agency, “More than 10,000 delegates will attend the forum. Representatives of 150 UN Member Nations, including those of the member-states of the Asian Development Bank, will also attend.” A number of ministers of the Eurasian Economic Commission will discuss sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s economy; economic integration of green technologies, world anticrisis issues, Eurasian transport systems and role of young people. The Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Justice will lead an international forum on anti-counterfeiting. The forum will discuss issues on harmonizing legislation on protection and enforcement of intellectual property within the framework of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space; production and distribution of counterfeit goods; protection of intellectual property rights on the Internet; enforcement of intellectual property – protection against unfair competition. President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan is expected to speak at the opening of a plenary session of the AEFand WAC, which will be held on May 23, Itar-Tass said. An AEF organizing committee official said the forum includes around 70 events dedicated to a discussion on priority issues of global development. Today, the first day of the forum, a World Anticrisis Conference will open under the auspices of the United Nations.
