HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani chaired Tuesday the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment. It was the council's first meeting in 2015 and took place at the Diwan.
HE Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani who is also the Vice-Chairman of the council attended the meeting. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, an executive member of the council, also attended.
After the meeting, HE minister of Finance and the council's Secretary-General Ali Shareef Al Emadi told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the council followed up on the implementation of its previous decisions.
The council also examined a report presented by HE Prime Minister on the legal steps being taken to implement the directives of HH the Emir in order to merge Qatar Development Bank and Enterprise Qatar.
The schedule of today's meeting focused on previewing the investment strategy, the latest developments in government projects and initiatives aimed at bolstering the economy. Finally, the schedule discussed the latest developments related to the petrochemicals industry and Qatar Petroleum Projects.
