The Ministry of Commerce and Industry organizes here on Monday an international conference on anti-money laundering and illicit funding of terrorism.
The two-day event themed "confronting terrorism between legislation and the effectiveness of implementation" will be held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
Some regional and international organizations as well as experts in this field will discuss through four sessions several working papers presented by experts and specialists, the statement added.
The first session will discuss the view of the international law and the Islamic Sharia about the concept of terrorism, while the second one will focus on the impact of ideology of terrorist organizations on global political and economic situations, it added.
The third session will tackle the role of international and regional organizations as well as civil societies in combating terrorism on all levels, it noted.
The fourth one will be on confronting crimes of money laundering and illicit funding of terrorism in light of the Kuwaiti Law No. 106 of 2013, it pointed out.
