he Disabled Children’s Association (DCA) has decided to launch the construction of the Makkah Endowments project involving the Prince Sultan Endowment, Prince Salman Endowment and the charity investment project of the clients of the Aziziyah Panda at a cost of SR120 million. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Higher Committee for Makkah Endowment Investment Projects, which was chaired by Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) President Prince Sultan bin Salman, who is also chairman of the board of directors of the DCA and the higher committee, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.Prince Sultan said in a statement after the meeting of the higher committee that the architectural designs of the charity projects has been completed, adding that the projects will prove to be a turning point in the future of the DCA."The projects will guarantee support to DCA's charitable activities," the prince said. Preliminary preparations to invite bids from large contracting companies are under way, the prince said.“The inaugural function to launch the works will shortly be held under the aegis of Defense Minister Prince Salman,” the prince said.The formalities to start construction works are being completed with the help of the Makkah Mayor Osama Al-Bar, the prince said.The three projects will be an addition to the notable architectural structures in Makkah, the prince hoped.DCA’s financing and investment committees will prepare the financial report on the first phase of the project separately for each endowment, he said.The prince noted that the DCA endowment is deemed as a gateway to charitable deeds as it is distinguished for its location in the holy city of Makkah, besides being a operating charity with the goal of caring for disabled children. The DCA will also launch shortly a program with the collaboration of the Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which will adopt, as part of its corporate social responsibility, a charity investment project in Makkah with donations from its clients.
