Two of the league's top strikers will come face-to-face on Sunday at the Emirates, but Wayne Rooney insists this weekend's clash is not just about him and Robin van Persie. The pair have netted 39 times between them this season with Van Persie slightly ahead of Rooney in the league scoring stakes with 18 goals compared to the United striker's 13. Rooney is a big admirer of the Dutchman's, but insists the most important thing on Sunday is helping the Reds pick up a positive result. "Arsenal have been doing well and Van Persie has scored a lot of goals. He is playing really well," Wayne told ManUtd.com. "He will be the biggest threat for Arsenal on Sunday. Him and Ramsey are certainly the two who have stood out for them this season. "There are a lot of top strikers in the league - Van Persie, Aguero and Yakubu is playing well. But Sunday is not about me and Van Persie. It is about us against Arsenal. That is what we will be focusing on." Rooney certainly seems to enjoy playing against the Gunners having netted 10 goals against them in 20 games for United. Three of those came in the remarkable 8-2 win over Wenger's men earlier in the season, which Rooney admits, was one of those one-off afternoons. "We knew it was a great day for us and a bad one for them. To beat Arsenal 8-2, with the players they have got, the history of the club and the manager, it was a great result. In some ways a shock," added the 26-year-old. "You are just in a zone [during the game]. Every time we went forward we seemed to be creatingchances or scoring. It is only afterwards that you realise what a win it was. I am pretty sure it won't be like that again [on Sunday]." Despite being 12 points behind United, Rooney is refusing to rule Arsenal out of the title race. "I wouldn't write Arsenal off. They are capable of going on a big run - so are Chelsea. I still think us, City and Tottenham are the three favourites. But Chelsea and Arsenal could still have a big say in it," he insisted. "Tottenham and City are both new to the challenge of the league. In previous years it has been Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all the time. But it's great for the league that so many teams can win it now." Wayne was talking to ManUtd.com, PA Sport, BBC Radio and Key 103.
