His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Monday, discussed with German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen a number of regional and international issues, namely the war on terrorism and referred to yesterday's march in Paris during which world leaders voiced strong condemnation of terrorism.
"Our presence in Paris yesterday was of paramount importance, because we are in one war against terrorism and extremism....we stood by our French friends in a clear position against violence and extremism," His Majesty the King said.
He renewed condemnation of the terrorist incidents that hit France, Canada, Australia and stressed that the participation in Paris rally was a message of solidarity with millions of French Muslims who stand against terrorism.
"It's not just limited to what we have seen in France, we must remember the killing of more than 140 children in Pakistan because of terrorism, and more than 2,000 innocent people in Nigeria, and the thousands of Muslims who are being killed in Iraq and Syria every day. This issue brings and unites us all," the King added.
The meeting touched on German-Jordanian ties and ways of cementing them in various domains.
