There is still a long way to achieve serious Russia-US cooperation in the fight against terrorism, but there are good prospects for its gradual expansion, Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak said in an interview with Sputnik.
He noted that "we are starting to move toward each other, but there still a great way to achieve real and serious partnership."
"We believed in this need [for more anti-terror coordination] from day one. Moreover, we constantly offer the Americans to seriously work against the common threat of terrorism. Strictly speaking, they to say they want to fight terrorism, but they want to do so within their political guidelines," Kislyak said.
