Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has adopted the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s policy, of “either rule or burn the country”, according to Deputy Director of al Ahram centre for Political and Strategic Studies, and leader in the Salvation ?Front, Dr Waheed Abdel Meguid. In the interview with Arab Today, he accused the Brotherhood of showcasing Egypt’s suffering to the outside world. Meguid said, “The Brotherhood have been transformed into a Neronic movement, and all ?their attempts are desperate, failing, and increasing the Egyptian people’s anger. They have become ?very hated, and lost all the sympathy of the Egyptians, which they had in the 50s and 60s. Their political stupidity has totally terminated them. There are only few hours left before the organisation ?totally ends.” He likened Mohammed Morsi to the Roman emperor who became infamous for his pleasure in violence and killing. He added, “The current violence and terrorism acts, burning police stations and churches is only ?an expected issue. We are too late in taking procedures against them. Targeting the churches was expected, in ?order to spread chaos and strife. Precautionary measures should have been taken, and being firm ?with these terrorist groups in all areas and zones.”? Dr Meguid said, “Christians are currently understanding that there are no problems between them and ?Muslims, and that the problem is between al Egyptians, Christians and Muslims, and a group that ?wants to either to rule Egypt by force, against the Egyptian people’s will, or to spread terrorist ?chaos all over Egypt.” He commented that the economy has greatly suffered from the crisis affecting the country, in particular tourism which, he said, is currently non-existent.
