A state of controversy dominated the Egyptian arena over the proposals to amend the law on Appointment of Heads of Judicial Bodies recently approved by the Egyptian parliament. The law caused a state of anger among the Egyptian judges, as they held a meeting calling President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to interfere to resolve the current problem
Egyptian parliamentarian Ahmed Al Sherif said that the council passed the law that he proposed, stressing that they will not abandon it. He added that the law has been referred to the State Council and will not be amended again.
The parliamentarian denied any violation from the parliament against the judicial authority, stressing that the new law has not affected the authorities of the judges. He added that the parliament was keen to express respect to the judicial authority.
