Rosalia Arteaga
Cairo - Fady Ameein

Former Ecuadorian President Rosalia Arteaga, the first woman to rule Ecuador, has said she is keen to visit Egypt every year because she has a special nature and a magical climate. She is happy to visit the pyramids, which she has always heard about in history books.

Regarding the measures taken by the Egyptian authorities to improve economy, she revealed that measures taken by Egypt are very difficult, but the element of magic in adjusting the economic crisis will be achieved by the return of tourism to its former era.

She added that education is the most powerful weapon in the war on terror, because fundamentally changing minds will contribute to creating a society conscious of the seriousness of terrorism. Egypt has the ability to influence Muslim countries through Al-Azhar.

She stressed that all religious leaders in the world are aware of the purposes of terrorists, so it is ignorant that Islam is linked to terrorism, because the principles of heavenly religions call for tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

She added that no one can deny the importance of military interventions, but in my view it is more useful to look at the long term to eliminate the phenomenon in general, and this will be achieved only by changing minds in education.

She stressed the need for using the reports published in a number of foreign newspapers demanding to lift travel ban imposed against Egypt to promote for Egypt’s tourism during the coming period.

She stressed, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, the need for using such reports to support the vital sector of Egypt’s economy, saying that they took their decision to impose a travel ban against the country due to the terrorist actions witnessed in the country and the political developments since 2011.
