Slalom queen Mikaela Shiffrin was taken to hospital for tests after injuring a knee during a warmup run for Saturday's World Cup giant slalom in Are, Sweden.
According to Swedish media reports the 20-year-old American sustained ligament damage to the joint.
She had also been due to compete in the slalom at Are on Sunday, having dominated the discipline for the last three years with the aim of taking the overall World Cup lead from compatriot Lindsey Vonn.
The veteran speedster currently leads the way with 300 points, four points ahead of Shiffren following the meetings in the United States and Canada.
