Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva is currently in the seventh place after she fell during her short program performace at Skate Canada, the second competition in the annual International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating seriers.

Russia's Elizaveta Tuktamysheva is leading after the short program with 74.22 points. Medvedeva earner 60.83 points for her short program after she failed to perform the triple flip triple toe loop combination. For Medvedeva, this is the worst short program result after she started competing in adult figure skating.

The second and third place are currently occupied by Japanese figure skaters - Wakaba Higuchi (66.51 points) and Mako Yamashita (66.30 points) respectively.

Women's singles free skate program will be performed on Saturday.
