Queens Park Rangers' injury-plagued midfielder Kieron Dyer is unlikely to play again this season after discovering he will require an operation on his foot, manager Neil Warnock said today. Dyer has not played for Rangers since suffering a foot injury after only a few minutes of his debut on the opening day of the season against Bolton Wanderers. The 32-year-old had been hopeful of returning just after Christmas but has suffered a setback after injuring his foot again in a reserve game. "This is a devastating blow for Kieron," Warnock told the club's website. "I have never met a more determined pro in my career, and he really doesn't deserve this. "The specialist said he thought Kieron could return before Christmas without the need for an operation and is disappointed that this is not the case, and he has no alternative now but to operate." Warnock is now expected to leave Dyer out of his official 25-man squad when he resubmits it to the Premier League following the January transfer window.
