Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic's joy at beating old foes Rangers on Wednesday was tempered today with the news Israeli international midfielder Beram Kayal will be out for at least a month. The 23-year-old - who has impressed since he joined on a four year contract from Maccabi Haifa in 2010 - was stretchered off after coming off worse in a tussle with Lee McCulloch in Wednesday's 1-0 victory that saw them leapfrog Rangers at the top. "Beram Kayal has undergone two sets of scans on the ankle injury sustained on Wednesday evening and results received today have revealed that unfortunately he will be out of action for at least one month," read a statement issued by Celtic. "The midfielder, who missed the closing stages of the win against Rangers midweek, will receive a further investigation on the injury in one week." The victory saw Celtic take a two-point lead over defending champions Rangers, who at one stage in November held a 15-point lead over their bitter rivals, albeit Celtic had two games in hand. However, since then Celtic have won nine successive matches in the Premier League, though they failed to progress in the UEFA Europa League.
