German teenager Andreas Wellinger claimed his first ski jumping World Cup win on Thursday with victory on the large hill at Wisla in Poland. "I am on cloud nine. It's difficult to put into words because it's so crazy," said the 18-year-old who finished just ahead of overall World Cup leader Kamil Stoch of Poland with Michael Hayboeck of Austria completing the podium. Stoch has 707 points after 16 rounds, 59 points ahead of Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer, the defending World Cup champion. Austria's Thomas Diethart, the shock winner of the Four Hills tournament, failed to make the podium, finishing in fourth place. The World Cup now moves to Zakopane in Poland on Saturday and Sunday, the penultimate events before the Olympic Games get underway in Sochi on February 7. Results: 1. Andreas Wellinger (GER) 262.8 pts (127.0 - 128.5 m), 2. Kamil Stoch (POL) 261.9 (134.5 - 132.0 m), 3. Michael Hayboeck (AUT) 261.2 (137.0 - 130.0 m), 4. Thomas Diethart (AUT) 260.4 (131.0 - 128.5 m), 5. Peter Prevc (SLO) 259.3 (140.5 - 132.5 m) Selected 8. Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT) 251.7 (132.0 - 125.0 m) Overall World Cup standings (after 16 of 28 rounds): 1. Kamil Stoch (POL) 707 pts, 2. Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT) 648, 3. Simon Ammann (SUI) 608, 4. Peter Prevc (SLO) 552, 5. Noriaki Kasai (JPN) 546, 6. Anders Bardal (NOR) 498 Selected 9. Thomas Morgenstern (AUT) 438 Source: AFP
