5000 foreign students have applied to study at London Met
London - Arabstoday

5000 foreign students have applied to study at London Met London - Arabstoday London Metropolitan University has been granted a new licence to admit overseas students, seven months after the institution was stripped of its right to teach non-EU nationals by the UK Border Agency. The university has been granted a new 'Tier 4' foreign student sponsorship licence, allowing existing foreign students to complete their courses. Professor Malcolm Gillies, Vice-Chancellor of London Metropolitan University, said: “This is excellent news for our students and our University, which looks forward to welcoming students from around the world who want to study at one of London’s most diverse academic institutions. “London Met has a long history of providing education to international students and we can now continue this long-term commitment to offer them quality education. Students can have total confidence that our processes are stronger than ever. I take this opportunity to thank all staff and students and, in particular, international students for their patience and support over the last nine months.” London Met applied for a new licence in March. University staff worked with the Home Office to ensure the university has appropriate processes for recruiting and monitoring international students. Nearly 5000 international students have already made applications to study with London Met for September 2013 and the institution will now embark on a four-month promotional tour across 17 countries.
