Students will benefit from improved facilities Paris - Arabstoday Palestinian PhD students will soon benefit from improved integration and support in the global academia stage, A UNESCO report suggests. As the eight International Conference of the Palestinian-European academic cooperation (PEACE) Programme starts on Friday, representatives of European and Palestinian universities will introduce a new plan to develop faculty mobility and e-learning. Based on the principles of the right to education and the right to culture, the goal of PEACE - as its acronym suggests – is to contribute to the peace process in the Middle East. Launched in 1992, the PEACE interuniversity network aims to improve the efficiency and relevance of teaching and research at Palestinian universities and improve institutional and staff development. Participants will also examine joint PhD programmes, focusing on the French-Palestinian model and look at the Palestinian model of accreditation and quality assurance.
