The reading hoppy in Arab world still needs more attention despite of our knowledge of its importance to enrich mind and open door for science, culture and creativity, but we still lose sight of its benefits, of which that it became used as an effective treatment for many psychiatric disorders.
A lecture titled "Reading and Psychodrama as Therapy" presented by a psychological and educational expert Hala Al Ablum in the culture and science seminar, held in the presence of writer Abdul Ghaffar Hussain and Sultan Saqr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the seminar, as well as a group of researchers, while the lecture was led by novelist Nasser Iraq.
Al Ablum initiated the lecture by talking about the reading therapy, using books and pamphlets as well as e-books which the patient reads and interacts with them to solve psychological problems, noting that this treatment contributes to the formation of the cognitive knowledge of the patient and acquisition of comprehensive psychological information about his problems.
Aloplum added that reading is a source of happiness, being the most common type of psychotherapy that are accepted by everyone without fear, because it does not have any psychological or social side effects, whereby the child can change his view of the psychological problems.
