Federal Minister for National Health Services Regulation and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar Thursday strongly condemned the firing incident by terrorists on polio workers, which left two polio workers dead in Quetta.
Talking to a private news channel, she said that the terrorists tried to handicap the entire nation by targeting polio workers in Quetta.
The miscreants kept trying to propagate negatively against polio campaign and polio workers, she said.
She appreciated polio volunteers for their services to humanity despite the threats to their lives.
She prayed Allah Almighty to grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this loss.
A mother and her daughter who were taking part in an anti-polio campaign in the southwestern city of Quetta were shot dead by the gunmen on Zarghoon Road today (Thursday).
According to police, the victims have been identified as Sakina Bibi and Rizwana.
