Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa condemned the terror blast which targeted an oil pipeline near Bouri village. He denounced the Iranian blatant interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs and support to the terrorist groups, pointing out that those criminal acts will only add more strength and cohesion in facing the enemies.
The Southern Governor was speaking as he chaired the weekly security meeting in the governorate’s building in Awali. He lauded keenness of Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to closely follow up on the incident to get assured about the safety of the people. He commended the competence of the Civil Defence personnel in controlling the incident in a record time, praising the big role of Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) and the Public Security personnel in handling the incident.
The Southern Governor spotlighted ways of focusing security plans to protect campers during the camping season, mainly regarding traffic. He stressed the need for the General Traffic Directorate to take more measures to ensure easy traffic flow mainly in the camping areas. He also listened to a briefing by the Southern Police Directorate on the type and number of cases and notifications received from the governorate’s constituencies. He urged to ensure full readiness to provide a comprehensive security plan in preparation for December and the national festivities in this month which require synergized efforts to secure traffic movement and maintain public security during the national celebrations.
