Prime Minister Saad Hariri met Saturday evening in Nicosia with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, with the general situation in Lebanon and the region and bilateral relations topping their discussion.
Talks also touched on ways of developing bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic sector.
Attending the meeting on the Lebanese side was PM Hariri's Chief-of-Staff Nader Hariri, and on the Cypriot side Defense Minister Christopher Fucaidis, as well as Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism Minister George Lakkotrypis and Cypriot Ambassador to Lebanon Christina Rafti, in addition to other senior Cypriot officials.
Anastasiades and Hariri are due to make a joint press statement later this evening.
A dinner banquet hosted by the Cypriot President in honor of PM Hariri will follow
