The International Association of Chiefs of Police has awarded the Fujairah Police with a prominent international award, for its excellence and leading role in policing the community, promoting the culture of quality, and its ongoing cooperation with its partners, during a ceremony held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the US.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, received the award from Donald De Luca, Chairman of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, as the winners were selected from major police institutions from around the world.

The award ceremony was attended by a group of prominent chiefs of security, strategists, commissioners, investigators and officials working in police security and law enforcement.

Major General Al Kaabi said that the award won by the Fujairah Police, for its leadership in community policing, is a new achievement to be added to its list of international successes. The force always seeks to improve its performance in police security and community service, he said.

He also expressed his pride at the prominent position of the Ministry of Interior, as a police institution committed to applying international principles and ideas, to provide police services to the community while seeking to achieve the leading position in world competitiveness indexes.

Al Kaabi went on to say that winning the award was made possible with the support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police is a prominent non-profit organisation that aims to develop and continuously improve all areas of police work.
