Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, has said that Flag Day celebrations should be undertaken with pride and honour, as the occasion marks a renewed resolve and strength in the nation's unity and development.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Owais went on to say that Flag Day celebrations are in keeping with the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan accession to the presidency and marks the Emirati people's loyalty to our wise leadership and love of the homeland.
Flag Day is also a day of remembrance, honouring our late Founding Father's efforts to ensure the nation's development and prosperity, the minister continued, adding that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates have carried this legacy forward, ensuring that the UAE succeeds in all of its local and global endeavours.
"On Flag Day, we renew our commitment and loyalty to our wise leadership, and to serve and safeguard the nation and its flag - a symbol of pride, sovereignty, and unity - ensuring that the UAE attains its goals and objectives as one of the world's leading nations in time for its Golden Jubilee," he affirmed.
Dr. Al Owais concluded by saying, on this glorious occasion, we will continue to promote tolerance and co-existence among the nation's people and residents, highlighting the UAE's global model of tolerance.
