The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, inaugurated the Technical Institute and the office of the Deputy Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training in the interim capital, Aden, on Sunday, following their rehabilitation as part of the UAE’s assistance programme in Yemen.
Juma Al Mazrouie, ERC Representative in Aden, Abdurabu Al Mehouli, Deputy Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, and a number of local officials attended the opening ceremony.
The ERC also provided the Institute with furniture and equipment, to ensure the flow of the learning process and to help students gain the knowledge and skills needed to enter the job market.
Al Mehouli thanked the UAE for extending technical assistance to Yemen, particularly in the education sector in Aden, praising the ERC's significant contributions to rehabilitating educational institutes, as well as rebuilding facilities destroyed by the coup militias.
The ERC is undertaking a package of vital educational, health, water, electricity, relief and transport projects in various Yemeni governorates as part of the UAE’s aid programme.
