The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research warned Emirati students from enrolling in educational institutions operating inside and outside the country that give certificates from authorised universities. There has been a recent emergence in ads promoting correspondence courses which grant attested qualifications from the institution. A statement issued by the ministry pointed out that it does not adopt such methods of education, as these institution does not need the student to attend the university. The ministry stipulated that the student must get permission from the ministry before joining any of these institutions according to the decree No.93 of 2010. The study should also be under the supervision of the cultural attaché at the UAE embassy of the country of study or under supervision of the embassy itself, the statement added.
