The new Shura Council member Nawar Al-Mahmood took the constitutional oath before the Shura Council during today’s regular meeting which was chaired by Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued on the fifth of March Royal Order Number 10 for the year of 2012 on appointing Nawar Ali Abdulrahman as a member at the Shura Council to replace Sadiq Abdulkarim Al-Shibabi. Article No. (78) of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s constitution stipulates that all Members ofthe Parliament and Shura Council members must be officially sworn in during a public session before they can assume their duties. All MPs and members of Shura Council shall read the following constitutional section: I swear by God, that I sincerely be loyal to the country and its King, and to respect the Constitution and laws of the State, and to uphold the people’s freedom, interests and assets, and to honestly perform my duties.
