The Arab Parliament (AP)
Cairo - Arab Today

The Arab Parliament (AP) has welcomed a UN Security Council resolution that considered the building of Israeli settlements a violation of international law and an obstacle to the two-state solution.

The UNSC resolution is an important step on the road toward restoring rights of the oppressed Palestinian people, AP Speaker Dr Mashaal bin Fahm al Salmi said in a statement on Saturday.

The struggle of the Palestinian people is now bearing fruit, Salmi noted.

He urged the UNSC to exercise pressure on the Zionist entity to apply this and other international resolutions that would enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with occupied East Jerusalem as its capital.
