Health Promotion Department of the Ministry of Health was ranked first and second in the comprehensive awareness campaign in the 'Gulf Excellence Award Prize' in the field of Health Media, Director of the department Dr. Abeer Al-Baho said on Thursday.
She added in remarks to KUNA that the Executive Office of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have announced names of the winners of the prize offered by 'Al Mahalliyya Public Affairs' worth USD 100,000.
The department said that it has won first place in the category of comprehensive awareness campaigns made by the 'IG Events' for the last three years.
The campaigns were related to fighting obesity, she affirmed.
The prize jury examined a total of 139 participations, where 66 were excluded, and it has seen 73 works including 41 in the field of Television, 13 in radio, three in internet web sites, six in social networks, three in electronic applications and 10 in comprehensive awareness campaigns.
The winners will receive their prizes during a ceremony to be held in Riyadh on February 2, on the sidelines of the 78th conference of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) scheduled to be held on February 4-5.
