Daqahlia health department is gearing up to counter any possible outbreak of bird flu.
"Many preemptive measures were taken, including stocking the Tamiflu and setting up an operations room to follow up the situation 24/7," said Health Ministry Undersecretary Magdy Hegazi.
At least 29 people died of bird flu since January last year.
The health ministry reiterated its calls for those who handle poultry to seek immediate treatment once flu symptoms start to appear, while advising them to cover their noses and mouths when they deal with any kind of domesticated birds.
