Sharjah Crown Prince issues resolution to form "Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation"
Sharjah - Arab Today

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, today issued a resolution to form a new permanent committee, to be named, "The Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation," with the aim of implementing a policy on the digital transformation of all local services provided to Sharjah residents, and in line with international standards applied in the UAE in providing regional and international e-services.

The committee will be chaired by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Government Relations Department, while Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Statistics and Community Development Department, was appointed as its vice president. Its e-services project will be organised by the Sharjah eGovernment, which is led by Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the eGovernment Department.

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan for issuing the resolution, which complies with Sharjah’s developmental approach and contributes to fulfilling its digital transformation requirements.

The formation of the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation is considered progress in the provision of government services in Sharjah, which is based on professionalism and the use of modern technologies in local government performance while applying the most advanced technologies and the latest international practices, he added.

The committee will be tasked with creating digital transformation policies and strategies for local public authorities and planning the required programmes to implement them.
