His Highness Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Guard Special Force Commander, visited the Chechen Special Forces Centre on the sidelines of his visit to the Chechen Republic at the invitation of President Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov to attend celebrations on occasion of the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the city Grozny.


HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa was briefed on the Centre’s objectives, training stages, means of command and control, counterterrorism operations training, hostage-release break-in and security operations.


HH Shaikh Khalid also participated in a number of shooting exercises and observed skydiving exercises in the air tunnel of the Chechen Special Forces Training Centre.


HH Shaikh Khalid was pleased with this visit, expressing great admiration for the training he had witnessed and the spirit of cooperation among the members of the Chechen Special Forces, their determination and skill in carrying out military operations and plans efficiently, which reflects readiness for combat.


"The exercises carried out by the Special Forces were distinctive, utilising the latest training systems and military theories, which include plans, military tactics and the use of modern and sophisticated weapons," said HH Shaikh Khalid said, adding that these exercises reflect the advanced level of the Chechen military forces to confront and combat various challenges and terrorist threats.


HH Shaikh Khalid explained that the Chechen army witnessed increasing and continuous development, thanks to the interest of His President Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov who always supports and promotes the latest military means and systems.


HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out that this leads to increasing expertise, raising the readiness of its members to carry out duties and to participate in operations that contribute to the elimination of threats to peace and security in the world.
