Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Asir Region, on Wednesday inaugurated a number of development projects in Mohail Asir province, state news agency SPA has reported.
The development projects at the Mahayel governorate are worth more than half a billion riyals, SPA added.
Prince Faisal likewise inaugurated the 11th edition of Asir’s Winter Festival, and was treated to an operetta to celebrate the occasion.
Abha, the capital of Asir, has been named the Capital of Arab Tourism 2017 by the Arab Tourism Organization, which consequently attracted investment interest and opportunities in the area’s tourism industry.
Saudi Arabia is banking on tourism as one of the pillars for its Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the Kingdom’s economy away from oil.
