Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, conveyed the condolences of the leadership to the family of the founder of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge, Sir Elihu Lauterpacht.
This came during the participation of the minister at the memorial service of Sir Elihu, during which he praised his important role, hard work and strong legal opinions that contributed to resolving the Hawar Islands issue before the International Court of Justice for the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming that this role will always be appreciated by all Bahrainis.
The minister also praised Sir Elihu’s outstanding contributions to many human rights issues and his positive role in resolving many conflicts and expressed sincere thanks to the officials of Cambridge University for organising the memorial service for one of the most important law experts in the world.
