The water ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia have visited the site of the Ethiopian renaissance dam, which is currently under construction by the East African country, Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry Spokesman Hassan al Imam said on Wednesday.
Though the ministers visited the dam previously, this is the first time that water ministers of the three countries jointly visit the dam, as over 60 percent of its construction works have so far been completed.
The ministers inspected the various locations of the dam construction as questions of technical experts from both Egypt and Sudan have been answered.
The spokesman pointed out that water storage behind the dam has not yet started and non of its construction works could impede the flow of the River course to the downstream countries; Egypt and Sudan.
The tour of the ministers included the power generation station, the power transportation lines as well as the dam's lake.
The three ministers are expected to hold a meeting later in the day in the presence of technical experts to work out a consensus on the disputed points included in the consultancy report issued on the dam.
Ethiopia has launched the dam in 2011, in the Benishangul-Gumuz regional state.
