Dubai International Airport
Dubai International Airport has won the "Best Airport in the Middle East" in passenger service, organised by the Aviation magazine.
The announcement of the prize win came during a special ceremony held in Dubai
yesterday evening in the presence of a crowd of dignitaries and workers in the aviation sector of the UAE. Dubai Airport won the award based on the votes of the jury comprising international experts in the field of aviation, taking into account the services provided by airports, including excellence in the areas of passenger and cargo services in addition to the readiness of the facilities.
The award includes several categories covering the aviation industry, including airlines, airports and shipping industry and other sectors.
Jamal Al Hai, Executive Senior Vice President, International Affairs and Communications, Dubai Airports, received the award, and confirmed that the award came as the result of the dedication of all those working in the airport to move forward on the road to excellence and provide unmatched services to clients of Dubai Airport, which is used by 150 international airlines to more than 220 destinations around the world.
Dubai Airports have said that they expect the number of travellers through the airport to rise to more than 65 million passengers by the end of this year, rising to 75 million in 2015.
